Revolutions and Psychosocial Phenomena

Thematic table of the World Humanist Forum

Revolutions…

This study group was created to emphasize revolutionary processes of evolutionary tendency, which are multiplying in the world today. It also wants to encourage those ‘naive’ revolutionary processes that tend to become conscious. We understand here by revolutionary process, the social, psychic and spiritual transformation of individuals and human ensembles in the transition from a foolish and decadent historical phase to a new human and virtuous phase. The profound internal spiritual transformation is concomitant with a true evolutionary revolution.

…and Psychosocial Phenomena

The group also wants to grasp and report on the symptoms of possible psychosocial shocks that today’s rapidly changing societies may be approaching. It does not merely monitor probable mental earthquakes, but also seeks to induce them, promote them, and orient them in a nonviolent and coherent direction. The group encourages mental ‘disinclination’ and geographic distribution particularly towards the ‘forgotten areas’ of the globe, while creating open spaces where diversity can fraternally meet, express itself and mutually inspire.

Examples of revolutionary processes of interest

  • Sahel Confederation AES
  • Mexican humanism
  • BRICS
  • Bolivarian Revolution and ALBA

Some psychosocial phenomena and areas of interest:

  • Physical and mental Silk Roads
  • Places of origin of the great religions (Israel, Iran, India)
  • Border zones and peripheral places of empires and/or former empires (Mayotte, Djibouti, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Reunion, Kanaki, Guyana, Polynesia, Comoros, New Caledonia, Haiti, etc.)
  • Symbolic mountains, translations of Mount Meru, Kailash, Ararat, Aconcagua

February 2025

First Fortnightly Meeting

The first meeting of the study group took place in Zoom.

An initial proposal for the group was to study and reflect on

– ongoing revolutions with evolutionary implications

– psychosocial phenomena of interest

– spiritual upheavals and new spirituality

Ndiaga emphasised the undercurrent of tolerance in Senegal that has allowed the country to go through a period of instability and regime change without violence or excessive upheaval.

Beatriz shared her experience in spreading the Silo’s Message in Florida and the difficulties she encountered in raising awareness of non-violence in an environment where violence is often present.

Elena expressed her pleasure in participating in the group and quoted an article she translated into Russian that motivated her in this direction

We dedicated a moment to personal growth with an amiable officiating ceremony, which the group would like to repeat each time according to the good atmosphere in the meetings.

A goal of the group is to summarise the work and produce a brochure of a few pages by the next Forum meeting on Saturday 29 March 2025.

We have set up a whatsapp group with friends who wish to participate.

The next meeting of this group takes place on Sunday 16 February 2025 at 3pm in Punta de Vacas.

Peace, Force and Joy
