Social Ecology, Economics and Climate Change
Thematic table of the World Humanist Forum
The Social Ecology, Economics and Climate Change network is an initiative aimed at placing the point of view of universalist humanism on the relationship between ecology and economy. It is a space for reflection – action for its participating members who are also acting on different action fronts within their reach.
This initiative is the result of two networks that emerged in the IV Latin American Humanist Forum in May 2019 in Santiago, Chile. The Activities Beyond Climate Change Network and the Economy Network.
The Network also participated in the V Latin American Humanist Forum, where we proposed to gather the experience and action of both networks.
Since its formation, the Network has been working on studies oriented to develop the point of view of Universalist Humanism regarding social ecology and in particular the role of the economy in a context of ecological and climatic crisis. For the analysis the Network uses the dynamic structural method. Its studies and reflections have been presented in the form of papers and/or talks at the VIII, IX and X Symposium of the World Center for Humanist Studies (WCHS).
Recently the Network has constituted the Thematic Table of Social Ecology and Climate Change of the World Humanist Forum.
The Network manages a WhatsApp and a Facebook group.
