Pressenza gives visibility to news, initiatives, proposals and developments linked to Peace, Non- Violence, Disarmament, Human Rights and the fight against all forms of Discrimination. It places human beings at the centre of its values and concerns and celebrates diversity. The agency disseminates studies, analyses and actions that contribute to world peace and the overcoming of violence, prioritising nuclear and conventional disarmament, the peaceful resolution of conflicts and the withdrawal from occupied territories.
At the same time, it exposes all the events and situations that cause pain and suffering amongst communities, seeking to understand and address the root causes of these events, going beyond the role of mere spectators.
The Agency also provides training in Non-Violent Journalism to students, community leaders and volunteers who share these convictions.
About Non-Violent Journalism
The premise of non-violent journalism is to highlight events, people or social organisations that represent ways of life, actions and struggles that do not allow themselves to be swept up in the destructive spiral of violence.
It is an unceasing search for news linked to conflict resolution and the overcoming of all threats to world peace, whilst at the same time serving as a constant condemnation of that which causes personal and social pain and suffering.
Non-violent journalism amplifies the voices capable of establishing conditions of equality and parity, inclusive actions, and economic models founded on solidarity and environmental stewardship. Its content stands out and moves towards a new era, creating narratives for human transformation towards a reality free from the many forms of oppression and the numerous, grotesque faces of violence.
